Visa information

  • A visa to visit the trade fair should be applied for at the earliest six months, but no later than four weeks before travelling. In many cases, however, processing by the responsible German embassy or consulate takes longer than four weeks. Please plan accordingly.
  • Information on the visa procedure, the requirements for obtaining a visa, visa fees and application forms can be found on the website of the Federal Foreign Office and on the websites of the relevant embassies and consulates in your home country.
  • As early as 2013, the Federal Foreign Office informed the visa offices of German embassies and consulates worldwide that trade fair visitors and exhibitors generally no longer require a letter of invitation from the trade fair organiser to apply for a trade fair visa (see: AUMA website). If necessary, please refer to this information when applying for your visa.
  • As the organiser of the trade fair, DLG Markets GmbH assumes no legal and/or financial responsibility in connection with your visit to the trade fair. For this reason, general letters of invitation from the trade fair organiser are generally not helpful. This is in contrast to business trips for which a specific German business partner as the inviting company potentially coordinates and finances your trip.
  • Instead of a letter of invitation, exhibitors require confirmation of their paid stand registration and the visa fee is usually waived for them (see website of the Federal Foreign Office).
